I don't know about the rest of you, but my "gaming" ability maxed out with the original NES. I still remember the day when we woke up on Christmas morning to find the Nintendo under the tree complete with the gun and the power pad. My brother actually fell to the floor, clutched the box in his arms, and kissed it. Our lives were never the same.A few short years later my greatest love came into my possession, Tecmo Super Bowl. I played countless seasons with my beloved 49ers, sometimes going with the traditional Montana-led team, sometimes switching it up and letting Young lead the way. I'd always go into the offensive starters and switch Rice and Taylor so that Jerry could be at the top of the screen on the bootleg; worked every time.
Ever since the day the Nintendo stopped working right (you know what I'm talking about, blinking red light, damn thing won't stay on), I've always dreamed of the ability to play limitless Tecmo Super Bowl once again. A few years ago I got the dang thing to work long enough to play a whole season and win the championship, but it didn't last.
Well the other day all my prayers were answered in the form of RockNES, a NES emulator for Mac OS X. I found Tecmo Super Bowl and I'm back in the saddle. It's glorious. I've also found Kung Fu, Ice Hockey, Rampage, and, heck, tons of others I haven't even tried yet. I've tried to get an emulator before but never found anything that really worked or had Tecmo Super Bowl. This is the one. And I might never get anything else done for the rest of my life.

Baseball Stars is one of the greatest baseball games ever. It was awesome how you could customize players and teams. I need to get the emulator to play that game and Mike Tyson's punch out.
I almost dropped out of middle school because of that game. Randall Cunningham to Keith Jackson over 150 times in a season, 2000 yards rushing for Cunningham. it didn't seem right.... but I didn't give a shit, they were unstoppable and thats the way I ran my offense, it was ahead of its time.
There are other emulators out there. I found one years ago and even bought a NES controller that had been converted into a USB port device. You can also get updated rosters. If you google "Super Tecmo Bowl Heaven" you will find tons of information.
If you have the system still, you can get a replacement game reader part for the system for like $5 on amazon. I did a couple years ago, and all I needed was a screwdriver and 5-10 minutes to replace it.
The system works perfect. And there is no funnier sight than to play NES games in all their glory on a 64 inch plasma.
bazooka, yeah I heard there is some part you can replace that fixes the whole on/off blinky light problem but I've never done enough research to find it. Also, anon, thanks for the tip, I'm gonna look there and see if I can score a controller. That would be sweet!
