For former catcher Tim McCarver, that was the easy part. Trying to broadcast a World Series is much more difficult.
Veteran Fox analyst Tim McCarver used to be a catcher. But, he suggests, his mike presents more challenges than foul tips. "It's a lot tougher to announce a World Series that it is to play in one," he says. "Playing in it, you can do something about it."It's also tough work when you're not very smart. And, hey, forming complete sentences with verbs and nouns and adjectives is challenging for any grown up.

I see his point there. He was an average ballplayer and a horrendous commentator. Of course playing would be easier.
I would love to watch a short of him speaking but I bet that it was hilarious to watch him try to speak on tv.
