Man, outside can be pretty nice. Wouldn't have known it until this weekend...
From about September through March, there is just countless sports on TV. College football on Saturdays. NFL Sundays. Then you get college hoops, NFL playoffs, NBA action, probably some golf major.
This past weekend? A few local baseball games after the novelty of the new season has worn off. A few non-major golf tournaments (probably. Not that we'd really know). Stanley Cup Playoffs. Some NBA games with no playoff implication. Pretty boring.
Yuck. We got out of the house. Our ass-groove on the couch was lonely, but the girlie friend not so much.
Our question to you: What the hell did you watch on TV this weekend? (If it was porn, there's no need to tell us. We already know).
I was out of the apartment for most of it -- went to a wedding and camping on the local sand dunes with a bunch of people. Mix in alcohol, other natural intoxicants, plus a giant bonfire and barbecue and you have good times.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was home, it was the Stanley Cup playoffs and Planet Earth on the Discovery Channel, which I have to recommend highly for sharks and crocodiles killing smaller beings and it being shown in slo-mo replay.
(Also odd: male frogs gang-raping females and spores invading ant brains and growing out of their heads.)
I know what you did last weekend (cue scary music)...
ReplyDeleteyeah we had a good time, went to the cages, little trip to the airport, left my cell phone charger in Seattle. good shit.
Does "Match Game 76" count as sports?
ReplyDeleteThe NASCAR race was great.
ReplyDelete@Signal: Just wait until you see the dolphins gang rape. It's immeasurably more disturbing than the frogs.
ReplyDeleteBeing a Cleveland native, I wasn't lucky enough to frequent the outdoors, as it was still cold as balls. Thus, I spent the weekend very much like I have the last four months. Holed up in a bar in the Warehouse District, slamming beers until I couldn't feel feelings anymore.
Dude, NASCAR! Or not. Yeah, this weekend really blew. And the Angels have become depressing.
ReplyDeleteI just hung out at the house and worked on the NFL Draft, pulled my crank, watched baseball, went grocery shopping, did the laundry....
ReplyDeleteYeah this weekend blew for sports, which worked out well on the east coast because we are on day 13 with no sun so I couldn't even go outside. S2N, agree on Planet Earth. That was awesome
ReplyDeleteDidn't anyone watch the NHL playoffs? You know, hockey? That sport on ice that isn't curling, speed skating, or figure skating? Did anyone outside of Detroit, Buffalo, Minneapolis, a handful of fans in NYC, and points north watch?
ReplyDeleteI guess not.
Yeah, I was out of town and barely had time to watch any type of sports... seems like good timing on my part.
